We’re looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Water Solutions team in St Albans, Croydon, or Basingstoke. You will support the delivery of Southern Water's £3.7 billion capital programme, working on projects from small rural sites to large schemes in water and wastewater sectors.

You will contribute to frameworks supporting sustainable water and wastewater solutions, working flexibly from Southern UK locations, visiting sites, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities include feasibility studies, design production, liaising with teams, delivering high-quality technical outputs, site surveys, and plant/system design including municipal pumping stations and treatment equipment.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Progress towards Chartered Engineer status (e.g., with IMechE).
  • Experience in delivering engineering designs, reports, drawings, and calculations confidently.
  • Hands-on experience in water/wastewater projects.
