Job summary

The Town of Dartmouth is seeking a qualified Water and Sewer Maintenance Craftsman within the Department of Public Works. The role involves skilled manual and technical tasks for construction, maintenance, repair, and operation of the community's water and sewer systems.

Responsibilities include installing and repairing mains, hydrants, meters, and manholes; responding to emergencies; operating tools and equipment; and assisting with pumping stations and other public works activities as needed.

Qualifications

• High school graduation required.
• Two years of experience in municipal water system operations or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair water and sewer mains, hydrants, meters, valves, manholes and related infrastructure.
• Respond to emergencies and service complaints.
• Operate hand and power tools, vehicles and equipment.
• Inspect contracted construction work and maintain records and equipment.
