Responsibilities

  • Collect water samples from treatment works, reservoirs, and customer properties.
  • Carry out sampling activities as per Scientific Services Quality Manual.
  • Plan daily workload to ensure timely sample returns to the laboratory.
  • Perform daily maintenance and calibration of sampling equipment.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and site contacts.
  • Accurately complete paperwork and documentation.

Suffolk
6-Month Fixed-Term Contract
Monday–Friday, approximately 06:00–14:00 (with potential overtime available)
£12.60-£14.50 DOE

Pertemps are delighted to be partnering with Essex and Suffolk Water to recruit a Water Sampling Technician to join their dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, being on the road, and taking pride in contributing to the delivery of safe, high-quality water across Suffolk.

About the Role

As a Water Sampling Technician, you will be responsible for collecting water samples from a range of locations including treatment works, reservoirs, and customer properties. Your work will play a vital role in ensuring that water quality standards are met and maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out all sampling activities in line with Scientific Services Quality Manual and procedures
  • Follow a pre-determined sampling programme across Suffolk
  • Plan and organise your daily workload to ensure samples are returned to the laboratory within set timescales
  • Perform daily maintenance and calibration of sampling and testing equipment
  • Communicate professionally with customers and site contacts
  • Accurately complete all paperwork and documentation within agreed timeframes
  • Participate in standby, weekend, and rota duties where required
About You
  • Previous water sampling or field-based experience is desirable but not essential
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong record-keeping skills
  • Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 points) is essential
  • Enjoy working outdoors, travelling independently, and interacting with a variety of people
  • Reliable, organised, and motivated to deliver high-quality work
