Overview

The Water Safety Craftsperson - Plumber plays a critical role within the Estates & Facilities Division at St George’s Hospital.

This position involves ensuring the safety and operational integrity of water systems across the Trust's sites. Responsibilities include routine maintenance, inspections, compliance with safety standards, and addressing water safety incidents promptly and efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of water systems, performing temperature monitoring, flushing outlets, and collecting water samples for testing.
  • Log activities using ZetaSafe, generate reports, address system issues, implement corrective measures, and oversee water treatment systems, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
  • Diagnose and repair faults, supervise lower-grade staff and contractors, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Use control systems like TREND BMS, participate in emergency response, and contribute to energy efficiency initiatives.
  • Multiskill across various trades, prioritise tasks, and maintain accurate maintenance records.
