Job summary

Thames Water is offering a Process Scientist Industrial Placement based in West London, with a base at Hampton or Walton Water Treatment Works. You will gain hands-on experience protecting water quality from source to tap while working with experienced scientists on real operational challenges.

You will monitor water quality, investigate events, and provide practical recommendations to prevent recurrences. The role includes site travel, 36 hours/week, and a genuine opportunity to contribute to

Qualifications

• Degree (or equivalent) in a Scientific or Engineering discipline.
• Full driving licence and access to own vehicle is required due to travel across the Thames Valley Region.
• Enthusiastic, curious and able to work as part of a diverse team.

Responsibilities

• Water quality monitoring from source to service reservoir.
• Investigate water quality events and raise actions in the Drinking Water Safety Plan.
• Provide recommendations to prevent future events or failures.
• Support water treatment works audits and end-to-end treatment reviews.
• Represent Thames Water in meetings with stakeholders and maintain the brand reputation.
