Qualifications

Job description

Job Title: Water Quality Manager

Location: Manchester Foundations University Hospital

Working Hours: 40 hours, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm

Job Introduction

At Sodexo, we are seeking a Water Quality Manager to oversee the operations and maintenance of water systems and related plant, equipment, and services across Trust properties. Reporting to the Mechanical Manager, you will ensure water safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with Infection Prevention Control (IPC) to maintain an up-to-date Water Safety Plan (WSP) through training and awareness.
  2. Act as the appointed Estates Responsible Person for Water, ensuring compliance with L8 & HTM 04-01 standards.
  3. Lead Water Safety Groups, chair meetings, and represent the Trust at partner and strategic meetings, providing performance reports.
  4. Maintain and audit the Water Safety Plan, ensuring accurate records and compliance.
  5. Support Authorising Engineer audits and ensure action plans are implemented.
  6. Oversee compliance functions and address actions from Water Risk Assessments.
  7. Manage water safety contracts and update technical specifications with the Contracts Manager.
  8. Provide expert advice on water safety, monitor sample results, and deliver training programs.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Training in Legionella (L8) and knowledge of HTM 04-01.
  • Understanding of water distribution, microbiological contamination, and infection control principles.
  • Experience as a water deputy/responsible person.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
  • Ability to manage stakeholder relationships in complex environments.
