Carrington West is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead water infrastructure projects in the South West region, under the AMP8 Capital Works Programme. The role focuses on delivering clean water mains renewals safely, on time, and to high standards.

You will oversee site teams, manage subcontractors, and ensure strict regulatory compliance. A UK driving licence is essential and the position offers long‑term security within a high‑profile programme.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in managing clean water, pipeline, or deep excavation projects.
• Strong technical understanding of construction methodologies and client quality requirements.
• Sound knowledge of health & safety legislation and site risk management.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage multi‑discipline teams.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused mindset.
• Full UK driving licence (essential).

Responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day site operations to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Enforce CDM, NRSWA and health & safety compliance.
• Coordinate subcontractors, direct labour, suppliers, and temporary works.
• Maintain RAMS, permits and site records accurately.
• Track progress, resources and costs; report to the project team.
• Support commercial teams with valuations, variations and contracts.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to on‑site teams with a focus on safety.
