Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead major water sector programmes in the UK and internationally. You will provide strategic governance, drive end-to-end delivery, and maintain safety, quality, and commercial performance across complex projects.

The role requires leadership across feasibility to close-out, strong client relationships, and proven ability to manage budgets and contracts within NEC or FIDIC frameworks.

Qualifications

• Must have proven experience leading major, complex water/infrastructure projects as a Project Director.
• Experience with regulated water clients and capital programmes including treatment, networks, reservoirs, and flood resilience.
• Strong financial forecasting, risk management, procurement, and contract administration.
• Excellent communication and executive-level influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic governance across major water projects from feasibility through close-out.
• Lead end-to-end delivery with safety, schedule, cost, and quality at the forefront.
• Act as primary client interface, building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
• Oversee performance, reporting, risk, and commercial management across programmes.
• Drive delivery governance, compliance, and contractual obligations.
• Mentor and develop high-performing project teams and contribute to BD activities.
