Job summary

Morson Edge is partnering with a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy to recruit an experienced Design Manager for major UK water infrastructure projects. The role is a 12-month contract at up to £69 per hour with hybrid working, based in Epsom / Woodcote Grove, roughly 3 days per week office or site based.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered or Incorporated Civil Engineer preferred.
• Experience coordinating design delivery in a consultancy.
• Strong Water sector experience.
• Experience in multidisciplinary environments with contractors.
• Delivery across the full project lifecycle.
• Knowledge of risk, quality, change control and commercial awareness.
• Coordination with MEICA, structures and geotechnics.
• Familiar with CDM Regulations, Eurocodes, NEC and water utility standards.
• Independent worker with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate or manage multidisciplinary engineering teams delivering water infrastructure projects.
• Produce and review design reports, drawings, calculations and scopes of work.
• Drive technical input across design stages ensuring quality and compliance.
• Work with project management to manage time and budgets against milestones.
• Collaborate with clients, operations and other teams.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to colleagues.
• Support technical and delivery input for bids and proposals.
• Coordinate with UK and overseas teams to deliver integrated designs.
• Ensure QA standards are maintained across design delivery.
