Job summary

Mace is seeking a Construction Supervisor to lead site safety and oversee the programme of works for a major water infrastructure project in the UK. You will direct safety on behalf of Mace and our client, review ongoing works, and audit compliance with standards using Eco online, while coordinating with diverse stakeholders.

We value HSE, quality, and buildability expertise across multi-disciplinary teams. CSCS/SMSTS and NEC4 experience are preferred; driving license is required.

Qualifications

• Significant experience on major, complex infrastructure projects in live environments.
• Strong HSE, quality, commissioning and buildability expertise across multi-disciplinary delivery.
• Proven team leadership, programme management and NEC4 contract knowledge.
• Proven experience in controlling quality and workmanship during construction.
• Knowledge of water industry standard specifications.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Working towards MCIOB/MAPM/MRICS/MICE or equivalent desirable.
• NEC 4 ECC supervisor experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys, identify hazards and complete risk assessments.
• Highlight potential design issues before they affect cost or schedule.
• Assist Project Managers in managing contractors and construction risks.
• Monitor contractor performance, conduct audits, and maintain diaries of activities.
• Review procedures to ensure RAMs, standards and specifications compliance.
• Ensure construction activities and materials meet standards and legislation.
• Investigate non-conformances and drive defect resolution.
• Report SHEQ hazards, near misses, and incidents.
• Witness testing/commissioning and manage acceptance procedures.
• Inspect finished works, certify quality, and manage handover including snagging.
• Investigate new materials/tech to meet maintenance and construction needs.
• Provide technical construction expertise and water hygiene protection.
