Job description

Ph Water & Air Technologies is looking for a Water Hygiene Engineer to join our team. If you reside in either Essex or London this would be ideal as we have a geographical area that s far and wide.

In this role, you ll be responsible for carrying out a range of water hygiene tasks to ensure compliance with current legislation, including L8/ACoP and HSG274. Your duties will include temperature monitoring, water sampling, tank inspections, TMV servicing, and remedial plumbing work.

What you receive for joining us:

We offer a competitive salary between GBP28,000 and GBP35,000 per annum, depending on experience, with 25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays, a financial loyalty bonus scheme, company vehicle, a company pension and healthcare along with other benefits we d be happy to tell you about.

Here s a look at some of the things you ll be doing:

  • Temperature monitoring of outlets, tanks, and cylinders; visual inspections of water systems; internal inspections of water heaters and tanks; calorifier blowdown; and inspection and servicing of thermostatic mixer valves
  • Cleaning and disinfection of shower heads, pipework systems, cold water storage tanks, and cooling towers in accordance with BS 8558:2011; descaling and internal inspections of water heaters
  • Water sampling and analysis of closed systems using a site test kit
  • Water heater and tank inspections, with knowledge of cooling towers and analysis preferable but not essential

Can you show experience in some of these areas?

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, technical ability, and plumbing experience (preferred); capable of physical work including lifting, carrying, and climbing
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm for the company and role, with the ability to work unsupervised and overcome challenges to complete tasks
  • Strong communication skills with a good customer interface; confident discussing technical issues and accurately completing engineer reports and logbooks
  • Full UK driving license required
