Job summary

PTSG Water Treatment is seeking a field-based Water Treatment Technician to inspect and service water systems across the Cambridge area. Travel to customer sites, perform vessel inspections, tank chlorinations, and install Thermostatic Mixing Valves as part of a regulated program.

You will monitor systems per HSG 274 Part 2, take samples for closed systems, and use SimPRO to manage workload. A full UK driving licence and Legionella training are essential, with training provided for career

Qualifications

• Full, clean UK driving licence is required.
• City & Guilds Legionella Awareness Training or equivalent is required or preferred.
• Experience with water safety regulations and Legionella control is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to inspect and service water systems.
• Inspect and clean water storage vessels and lead tank chlorination where needed.
• Install and service Thermostatic Mixing Valves.
• Monitor water systems per HSG 274 Part 2; sample for closed systems.
• Maintain records using the SimPRO system.

What you’ll be doing:

As a key part of our team, you'll travel to customer sites, ensuring water systems are safe and compliant across the region. Your day will involve essential tasks like inspecting and cleaning water storage vessels (including leading on tank chlorinations), installing and servicing Thermostatic Mixing Valves, and conducting routine monitoring tasks in line with HSG 274 Part 2. This means you'll be flushing water outlets, monitoring temperatures, descaling showerheads, flushing pressure vessels, and performing crucial sampling for closed water systems. You'll also expertly use our SimPRO system to manage your workload. Your ability to spot problems and proactively find solutions, combined with your detailed knowledge of HSE’s ACoP L8 and HSG274, will be vital in maintaining our professional and compliant reputation. You'll need a full, clean UK driving licence and have City & Guilds Legionella Awareness Training, equivalent or suitable industry experience to succeed in this role.
