Job summary

PTSG Water Treatment is seeking a field-based engineer to service and monitor water systems across the Cambridge area. The role offers a permanent, full-time contract with 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and no evenings or weekends.

You will inspect tanks, chlorinate where needed, install mixing valves, and perform routine monitoring and sampling. A full UK driving license and Legionella training are essential; SimPRO is used to manage workloads.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving license and own transport to access customer sites.
• Knowledge of HSG 274 Part 2 and ACoP L8 is desirable.
• Legionella awareness training or equivalent experience required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and clean water storage vessels including tank chlorinations.
• Install and service Thermostatic Mixing Valves.
• Monitor and sample closed water systems; perform routine checks.

What you'll be doing:

As a key part of our team, you'll travel to customer sites, ensuring water systems are safe and compliant across the region. Your day will involve essential tasks like inspecting and cleaning water storage vessels (including leading on tank chlorinations), installing and servicing Thermostatic Mixing Valves, and conducting routine monitoring tasks in line with HSG 274 Part 2. This means you'll be flushing water outlets, monitoring temperatures, descaling showerheads, flushing pressure vessels, and performing crucial sampling for closed water systems.

You'll also expertly use our SimPRO system to manage your workload. Your ability to spot problems and proactively find solutions, combined with your detailed knowledge of HSE's ACoP L8 and HSG274, will be vital in maintaining our professional and compliant reputation.

You'll need a full, clean UK driving licence and have City & Guilds Legionella Awareness Training, equivalent or suitable industry experience to succeed in this role.
