Water Hygiene Operative – Flushing & Monitoring

Job Title: Water Hygiene Operative - Flushing & Monitoring (Communal Areas)

Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and diligent individual to carry out routine water hygiene tasks, primarily focused on flushing and monitoring activities across various unmanned communal areas. Key locations currently include:

There is potential for this role to extend to other sites, such as senior living schemes and community rooms, although these are typically more effectively managed by on-site personnel.

Role Purpose:
To ensure regular flushing and monitoring is carried out efficiently to help prevent water stagnation and mitigate the risk of Legionella across our properties. Multiple sites will be visited each day, with each visit expected to take minimal time depending on property size.

Estimated Time per Visit:

· A standard property (one kitchen, one bathroom) should take around 15-20 minutes, including access and data logging.

Main Responsibilities:

· Conduct routine flushing at unmanned communal areas

· Perform monthly outlet monitoring at senior living schemes and communal facilities

· Carry out monthly water heater monitoring at senior living schemes and communal facilities

· Complete quarterly shower head cleaning and disinfection in line with hygiene protocols

· Assist with sampling, where feasible (local laboratory access or drop-off point required)

· Log all flushing activity using the existing Senior Living Scheme Flushing Records Log

Requirements:

· Must attend and complete a Legionella Awareness course (training can be arranged)

· Strong attention to detail and ability to follow health and safety protocols

· Good time management and ability to travel between multiple sites in a day

· Reliable and able to work independently with minimal supervision
