Job summary

CBW Staffing Solutions is seeking a Water Hygiene Engineer to cover Glasgow and the Central Belt, with a salary up to £28,500 DOE and a fully expensed company vehicle. The role involves mobile work across commercial sites, implementing Legionella control and water hygiene tasks, and maintaining compliance records.

Applicants should have experience with domestic water systems, be able to pass an Enhanced DBS check, and hold a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Experience with Legionella monitoring or water hygiene tasks.
• Understanding of ACOP L8 and HSG274 guidance.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Ability to pass Enhanced DBS checks.

Responsibilities

• Monitor water temperatures and perform hygiene compliance checks.
• Clean showerheads and descale where needed.
• Inspect and clean cold water storage tanks.
• Collect water samples for analysis.
• Service and maintain TMVs.
• Clean and disinfect cooling towers.
• Test LTHW systems and analyze results.
• Dose chemicals (inhibitors/biocides) safely.
• Test steam boilers and cooling systems.
• Service water softeners.
• Perform basic plumbing remedial works.
• Maintain ACOP L8 and HSG274 records.

Water Hygiene Engineer - Glasgow - Salary up to £28,500 DOE

Are you a plumber, mechanical maintenance engineer, facilities engineer or water hygiene technician looking to build a career in water treatment?

We're looking for a mobile Water Hygiene Technician to join a well-established facilities management company covering commercial sites across Glasgow and the Central Belt.

If you have experience carrying out Legionella control, water hygiene compliance or mechanical maintenance involving domestic water systems, we'd like to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Temperature monitoring and water hygiene compliance checks
• Showerhead cleaning and descaling
• Cold water storage tank inspections and cleaning
• Water sampling
• TMV servicing and maintenance
• Cooling tower cleaning and disinfection
• LTHW testing and analysis
• Chemical dosing (inhibitors and biocides)
• Steam boiler and cooling system testing
• Water softener servicing
• Basic plumbing remedial works
• Maintaining accurate ACOP L8 and HSG274 records
