Job summary

Anglian Water is seeking a Regulation Specialist – Water & Environment to safeguard drinking water quality and environmental performance. You will assurance compliance data, liaise with regulators, and support policy discussions at national forums, helping shape future guidance and foster best practice across the sector.

The role offers flexible working options, 37 hours per week, and a permanent, full-time contract.

Qualifications

Degree or equivalent qualification in environmental science, water regulation, policy, or related discipline.
Experience in reviewing compliance reports and familiarity with environmental permits and regulations and water quality regulations.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build trust.

Responsibilities

Provide independent assurance over compliance documentation and data produced by first‑line teams, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations.
Identify inconsistencies and advise on remedial actions to ensure regulatory compliance.
Represent Anglian Water in national forums and policy development discussions.
Prepare detailed reports and contribute to regulatory submissions and internal decision‑making.
Implement compliance monitoring procedures and support targeted investigations.
Promote continuous improvement, embedding learning from investigations and assurance activities into BAU practices.
