Working across a portfolio of projects in an ever-changing environment, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team through the whole lifecycle of the project. Your responsibilities include producing cost-effective designs and quotations that result in safe and robust engineering solutions, balancing customer needs with long-term operability and regulatory obligations.

You will need to ensure we provide first-class service to our customers by building excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders, keeping them updated throughout the project journey—from receipt of pre-planning applications to acceptance, payment of connection quotes, and beyond.

Key areas of accountability will include:

  2. Liaise with and build strong relationships with other parts of the business regarding infrastructure delivery and connections.
  3. Ensure the protection of Thames Water’s assets.
  4. Ensure compliance with relevant Health and Safety legislation.
  5. Prepare and issue work packages to the Project Manager/Field team.
  6. Help progress projects to delivery, ensuring asset protection, CDM requirements, and Permit to Work procedures are followed.
  7. Provide high-quality customer service by building relationships and responding promptly and professionally to customer contacts, proactively keeping them informed of progress.
What you should bring to the role:
  • Degree or equivalent in engineering or a relevant STEM discipline.
  • Knowledge or experience of water/utility network operational processes and design (desirable but not essential).
  • Experience using CAD software.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and flexibility to adapt to changing needs.
  • Knowledge of HSE and CDM regulations.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
  • Quick learner with the ability to understand company systems, processes, and policies.
  • Attention to detail to ensure work is correct and compliant.
  • IT literacy, comfortable with MS Office suite.
What’s in it for you:
  • Competitive salary from £30,000 to £43,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
  • 24 days holiday, increasing to 28 with service, plus bank holidays.
  • Contributory pension scheme (up to 12%) with 2x employee contribution.
  • Annual Personal Medical Assessments.
  • Benefits hub with offers to support wellbeing and save money.
