Job summary

Hyreus is seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to join a major Tier 1 contractor supporting water and civil engineering projects in the Dundee area. You will provide professional health and safety advice across live water infrastructure and civils works, collaborating with project managers, site teams, subcontractors and the SHEQ function to ensure safe, efficient project delivery.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in water, utilities, civil engineering or infrastructure, with

Qualifications

NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
TechIOSH, GradIOSH or CMIOSH membership (or working towards).
Experience as Safety Advisor in civil engineering, water, utilities or infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

Provide competent health and safety advice to project management, engineers, supervisors and site operatives.
Carry out regular site inspections, audits and safety tours across water and civil works.
Monitor compliance with health and safety legislation, company policies and client requirements.
Review RAMS and ensure safe systems of work are implemented.
Support delivery of water infrastructure and civils activities, including excavation, earthworks and pipework.
Provide guidance on construction risks including excavations, confined spaces, lifting operations, plant, temporary works, underground services and traffic management.
Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences, implementing corrective actions.
