Job summary

Randstad CPE is recruiting a Project Engineer to lead civil and water-infrastructure works near Royal Tunbridge Wells. The 18-month contract sits within the AMP8 framework, delivering across clean water and wastewater systems.

The role covers site management, subcontractor coordination, RFI/TQ handling, ITPs, and RAMS. A CSCS card and safety tickets are required; significant emphasis on safety and quality control.

Qualifications

• Water sector experience delivering civil engineering or water infrastructure schemes under UK AMP frameworks.
• Solid grounding in heavy civils, deep drainage, reinforced concrete, pipework networks, earthworks, and service isolation on live water assets.
• HND or Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent practical industry experience).
• Valid CSCS Card, SSSTS or SMSTS, and EUSR National Water Hygiene Card.
• Desirable: First Aid at Work, Confined Spaces training, or Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily engineering operations on civil infrastructure works, coordinating subcontractors, direct labour gangs, plant, and material deliveries.
• Act as the main technical link between design consultants, site management, and client representatives; resolve RFIs and TQs.
• Prepare, execute, and monitor ITPs, track non-conformances, enforce tolerances, and maintain site records.
• Review RAMS, manage Permits to Dig, and drive zero-harm site safety standards.
• Track 3-week lookahead schedules, monitor production rates, and manage commercial change events.
