Job summary

RG Setsquare in London is seeking an experienced Water Authorised Mechanical Engineer to join a busy healthcare environment in West London. This role provides technical assurance and compliance oversight across water safety management, ensuring water systems, maintenance activities and monitoring regimes are delivered safely and in line with HTM regulations.

Qualifications

• Recognised Authorised Person (Water) qualification or relevant training.
• Strong water hygiene and water treatment experience.
• Supervisor experience in water, engineering or facilities environments.
• Detailed knowledge of HTM 04-01, ACOP L8 and HSG274.
• Experience in healthcare, water hygiene or estates compliance environments.
• Experience investigating non-conformances and implementing corrective actions.
• Understanding of water safety management systems and compliance requirements.
• Experience maintaining accurate compliance records and using digital management systems.
• Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• HNC/HND, NVQ Level 4/5 or equivalent technical qualification in Engineering, Building Services, Water Hygiene or estates-related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking the duties of an Authorised Person (Water) in accordance with HTM 04-01.
• Ensuring compliance with Water Safety Plans and associated procedures.
• Providing technical advice and guidance on water safety and hygiene requirements.
• Supervising specialist water hygiene contractors and delivery teams.
• Carrying out root cause analysis and implementing appropriate corrective actions.
• Tracking remedial actions through to completion and escalating significant compliance issues.
• Maintaining accurate compliance documentation and digital records.
• Supporting audits, inspections and Authorising Engineer reviews.
