Job summary

Advanced Water Infrastructure Networks is seeking a Water Adoptions Engineer to liaise with developers, contractors and groundworkers to ensure adoptable water infrastructure is installed, tested and commissioned to required standards. You will spend significant time in the field visiting development sites to inspect and survey assets as they are installed.

In this role you will inspect assets, produce inspection reports, support asset adoption and lead the handover with records, commissioning

Qualifications

  • Experience of working within the water industry and adoptable water infrastructure.
  • Inspecting water assets including mains, connections, valves, hydrants and meters with defect identification.
  • Understanding potable water distribution networks and construction standards.
  • Reading drawings, specifications and as-built records.
  • Knowledge of legislation, industry standards and Codes relating to water infrastructure and asset adoption.
  • Ability to produce clear inspection reports, snagging lists and recommendations.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management with developers, contractors and internal teams.
  • IT skills including Microsoft Office; GIS or asset management systems advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple sites regionally.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Produce inspection reports, witness testing and commissioning activities, and support successful asset adoption.
  • Provide support to the Head of Technical Account Management on regional water adoption inquiries.
  • Carry out site inspections to ensure installations meet designs and AWIN standards.
  • Ensure assets are compliant with legislation, standards and company requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership during testing, commissioning and performance validation of new assets.
  • Lead handover of new assets with records, certificates and as-built information in place.
  • Attend pre-start meetings with developers and contractors to align with AWIN requirements.
  • Carry out pre-adoption inspections, snagging and final inspections prior to asset adoption.
  • Witness pressure testing, chlorination, sampling and commissioning to meet standards.
  • Inspect and record meter installations; ensure meters are operational.
  • Assist with integration of adopted assets into GIS and asset management systems.
