Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world-leading global organisation. Our client, a blue-chip FMCG company, is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator based in Burton upon Trent, West Midlands.

This is a temporary ongoing role working an 8-hour shift with the following rota:

  • Week 1: Mon-Fri, 8am-3pm
  • Week 2: Mon-Fri, 8am-3pm
  • Week 3: Mon-Thu, 8am-4pm; Fri off; Sat & Sun, 8am-4pm
  • Week 4: Mon off; Thu-Fri, 8am-4pm

Working an average of 39 hours per week, paying £15.68 per hour.

Job Summary:

Monitoring and operating the site's Wastewater Treatment Plant - DAF plant, including equipment inspection, cleaning, sampling, testing, and adjusting treatment parameters to ensure reliable service and compliance with discharge parameters.

Responsibilities include monitoring system from factory outfeed, wet well, screen, levels of balance tanks, treatment, and discharge to the flume.

Person Requirements:
  • Fault finding and escalation skills
  • Ability to complete and record testing
  • Ability to work independently during nights and weekends
  • Technical knowledge of equipment operation, maintenance, and changeover (advantageous)
  • Adherence to safety and environmental procedures
  • Monitoring plant parameters, adjusting as needed, and reporting deviations
  • Reliability, teamwork, responsibility, supportiveness, and motivation
Key Requirements:
  • Background in electrical, mechanical, or chemistry (advantageous)
  • Training provided
  • NVQ Level 2 preferred
  • Previous experience is essential

Annual leave: 28 days pro-rata for first 12 weeks, increasing to 33 days including bank holidays afterwards. Free parking and staff discounts available.
