Job summary

Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water is seeking a permanent Wastewater Operations role in Bangor, operating and maintaining multiple sites in line with environmental permits, QMS and Health & Safety. The job involves site ownership, maintenance, and coordination with a regional team across a defined area.

Working pattern is Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm, with a 1-in-7 weekend rota and a company vehicle provided. Salary is £28,065–£31,887 per year, with potential overtime and standby allowances, plus 33 days

• Demonstrable experience of compliance and adherence to Health & Safety standards.
• Enthusiastic about putting our customers first every day.
• Awareness of regulatory bodies such as Environment Agency/NRW.
• Computer systems literate.
• Passionate about our outdoor environment and protecting our surroundings.
• Team player, willing to take part in all necessary training requirements required for the role.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain several Wastewater Treatment Works and pumping stations in line with environmental permits, QMS and Health & Safety.
• Identify and undertake reactive work, raise work requests, and liaise with craft teams to facilitate repairs.
• Identify pollution risks, take measures to prevent pollution, and escalate as needed.
• Coordinate with the Area Supervisor and team members to support operational activities and improvements.
• Ensure safety for self and colleagues by following Health & Safety procedures.
• Adhere to quality management system requirements to ensure audit compliance.
• Maintain site ownership with high housekeeping and report defects promptly.
• Be willing to develop and operate across multiple sites as needed.
• Participate in annual leave and sickness cover arrangements for the area.
• Undertake any other duties to meet business needs and participate in out-of-hours standby rota.
