Job summary

Northumbrian Water seeks a Wastewater Operator in Teesside. This full-time role (up to 37 hours per week) keeps treatment plants and pumping stations running, handles samples, monitors equipment and analyses trends to ensure compliance with standards. Full training will be provided to get you up to speed quickly.

You’ll work as part of an experienced team, follow safety protocols, and perform routine checks. A valid UK driving licence is essential; a company van is provided.

Qualifications

• Training will be provided to cover core wastewater processes.
• Being a strong team player with a positive attitude is important.
• Good communication and practical, hands-on approach are valued.
• A full UK driving licence is essential for site-to-site travel.

Responsibilities

• Keep treatment plants and pumping stations running at their best.
• Handle water samples, monitor equipment and analyse trends.
• Carry out routine checks and follow health and safety protocols.
• Be prepared for occasional out-of-hours standby as required.
