We are seeking a dependable Water Operator in Training or Water Operator Grades I to IV to join our Field Operations department and play a crucial role in our ongoing commitment to operational excellence.

Job Responsibilities

Essential Functions for Operator in Training:

• Assist operators with all required job duties
• Take and record instrument readings
• Collect samples and perform routine laboratory analysis
• Maintain utility tract through general cleanup and wash-down of facilities
• Perform routine tasks with hand tools (shovels, rakes, etc.)

Essential Functions for Water Operator I - VI:

• Operate and maintain water/wastewater treatment facilities as required by city, state, and federal guidelines
• Assist with water and wastewater line repairs, new line installation, and other work as directed
• Inspect and maintain pumps, motors, valves, and other plant equipment, troubleshooting problems as they arise
• Perform routine tests on water treatment facilities, including tests related to the treatment process, chemicals, pumps, motors, and routine water quality sampling
• Document plant performance, including daily flow, well meter readings, and chemical dosage and usage

Work Experience

Operator in Training: Entry level

Water Operator I - VI: Most hold a current Water Grade IV license with the Alabama Department of Environmental Management. Typically, 3 years of related experience in water and/or wastewater system operations, maintenance, customer service, and operating mowing and lawn equipment.
