Job summary

Doran Consulting is seeking a talented Wastewater Modeller to join our Water team. The role focuses on developing, building and maintaining wastewater models to support planning, optioneering and design across the UK and Ireland.

Ideal candidates will have a minimum of one year’s experience in water/public health engineering, with opportunities for professional development and support for chartership in a collaborative, award-winning practice well known for delivering innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, build and maintain wastewater and drainage hydraulic models to support planning, optioneering and detailed design.
• Produce and update drainage area plans and catchment models.
• Undertake model build, calibration and verification using flow survey data, rainfall data and asset records.
• Undertake hydraulic assessments including capacity checks, surcharge analysis, flooding mechanisms and spill analysis.
• Support growth and development impact assessments, including new connections and network reinforcement studies.
• Undertake and interpret scenario testing (e.g. climate change, growth, blockage, storm return periods).
• Prepare technical outputs including model results, drawings, figures and reports for internal review and client submission.
• Work closely with civil, mechanical and process engineers to inform optioneering and design decisions.
• Ensure modelling work complies with client specifications and QA procedures.
• Other general modelling skills may be required from time to time in other sections of the company.

We have an opportunity for a Wastewater Modeller to join the Water team of our leading local multidisciplinary consultancy practice with a reputation for delivering innovative and sustainable engineering solutions across a range of sectors throughout the UK and Ireland.

Responsibilities and Role

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Developing, building and maintaining wastewater and drainage hydraulic models to support planning, optioneering and detailed design
