Job description

We are currently in the market to recruit multiple Wastewater (Hydraulic) Modellers for various long-term frameworks across the UK.

RPS, along with Tetra Tech, has secured a £100 million single-award framework from United Utilities to support river health improvements in Northwest England, working on innovative projects for over 20 years.

As we approach AMP8, this is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the water industry, collaborating with passionate organizations to create positive change.

Under this 10-year framework, RPS will focus on program optimization, developing solutions, and selecting the best options based on value, low carbon footprint, and cost, aiming to deliver exceptional water services and promote a resilient, eco-friendly Northwest.

About The Team:

RPS Water Consulting comprises Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts providing Asset Management and Operational Strategy development to water industry clients, supporting business planning and delivery. The industry offers challenges and opportunities requiring innovation, dedication, and teamwork.

We also work with several major water companies across the UK, with a broad portfolio of long-term frameworks, leading into AMP8 and beyond, offering long-term career stability.

About You:

Ideal candidates will have experience with urban drainage projects, proficiency in InfoWorks ICM and GIS software, strong teamwork skills, and leadership qualities to mentor others and provide technical guidance.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Construct, verify, and maintain wastewater models.
  • Deliver feasibility studies, model use studies, optioneering, and assessments for wastewater networks.
  • Ensure quality and compliance of modelling outputs.
  • Manage small projects.
  • Maintain strong client relationships.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Adhere to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Relevant modelling experience from a consultancy or water company.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Visual Basic.
  • Experience with InfoWorks ICM and bolt-on packages.
  • Knowledge of GIS systems like MapInfo, ArcGIS, QGIS.
  • Ability to handle large datasets.
  • Experience with water-focused data analysis packages.
  • Understanding of the UK water industry.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in a relevant technical subject; postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.
  • Chartered or working towards chartership.
  • Membership or in-process with professional institutions like IET, InstMC, or CIWEM.
