Description du poste

Engineer to Associate | South East & East of England | Multiple Opportunities

Multiple opportunities available following recent framework awards

I'm working with a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy that has recently secured a number of significant frameworks, creating several opportunities within its growing Wastewater team.

The business delivers a diverse range of infrastructure projects across the UK regulated water sector, alongside programmes within aviation, energy, rail and transportation and selected international projects. This provides the opportunity to work across a varied project portfolio, with exposure to different clients, challenges and types of infrastructure.

They are looking for experienced Wastewater Modellers and Wastewater Engineers from Engineer through to Associate level, with opportunities available across the South East and East of England.

The role
  • Wastewater network modelling and hydraulic analysis.
  • Developing, building, verifying and calibrating hydraulic models.
  • Investigating network performance, capacity, flooding and hydraulic constraints.
  • CSO investigations, spill assessments and improvement schemes.
  • Wastewater network investigations, design and improvement projects.
  • Sewer rehabilitation, network reinforcement and capacity studies.
  • Sustainable drainage and surface water management projects.
  • Drainage strategies, feasibility studies and option appraisal.
  • Developing engineering solutions to address flooding, capacity and environmental challenges.
  • Supporting clients with asset investment and network improvement decisions.
  • Preparing technical reports, assessments and project deliverables.
  • Working alongside engineers, modellers, GIS specialists and other technical disciplines.
  • At more senior levels, leading technical delivery, managing projects, undertaking QA/checking and supporting the development of junior colleagues.
About you

They are interested in hearing from candidates with experience in wastewater modelling, wastewater engineering or a combination of both.

Relevant experience could include:

  • Wastewater and sewer network modelling.
  • Hydraulic analysis and network investigations.
  • CSO investigations, spill assessments and regulatory-driven improvement schemes.
  • Sewer network design, rehabilitation or reinforcement.
  • Flooding and capacity assessments.
  • Sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and surface water management.
  • Drainage strategies and feasibility studies.
  • Catchment-based investigations and solution development.
  • Model build, verification and calibration.
  • Experience using InfoWorks ICM is particularly relevant for modelling positions.
  • Experience with other hydraulic modelling or drainage software would also be advantageous.

You don't need to have followed a traditional wastewater modelling career path. Candidates from a civil engineering, drainage or wastewater infrastructure background are encouraged to apply, particularly where you have experience across sewer networks, CSOs, drainage, SuDS, flooding or related wastewater and water infrastructure projects.

For Principal and Associate opportunities, experience of technical leadership, project delivery, client management and mentoring less experienced engineers/modellers would be advantageous.

The opportunity

This is a great opportunity to join an established technical team at an exciting point in its growth, with multiple new frameworks recently secured and a strong pipeline of work ahead.

The breadth of the business means there is potential to gain exposure to projects across the water sector and wider infrastructure markets, including aviation, energy, rail and transportation, alongside opportunities to contribute to international projects.

You will have the opportunity to work on varied and technically interesting projects while developing your career within a large multidisciplinary engineering environment.

Multiple positions are available across the South East and East of England, with hybrid working arrangements available depending on the role and project requirements.

If you are an experienced Wastewater Modeller or Wastewater Engineer and would be interested in hearing more, please get in touch for a confidential discussion.
