Wastewater Catchment Planner / Modeller / Engineer - Scotland Graduate Programme

RPS is expanding and seeks to strengthen our Edinburgh and Glasgow offices with Graduate Wastewater Engineers, Modellers, and Planners.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career in an environment that recognizes your efforts and talent. The preferred start date is September 2024, or earlier if possible.

The graduate roles in our strategy team involve a mix of office and home-based work, with opportunities for site visits for data collection.

Key locations are Edinburgh and Glasgow. Success in this role requires a friendly, open attitude and a willingness to learn and develop. We value diverse ideas and perspectives, and seek individuals who are proactive, eager to learn, innovative, adaptable, and willing to take risks.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Handling and analyzing large datasets
  • Survey planning and supervision
  • Using GIS software such as MapInfo, QGIS, and ArcGIS
  • Performing statistical data analysis
  • Preparing reports
  • Constructing and verifying hydraulic sewer network models with InfoWorks ICM
  • Conducting catchment modelling and risk assessments
  • Engaging with clients and stakeholders
  • Contributing to software development and documentation
About You:
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, or Environmental Science
  • Modules in wastewater, hydraulics, GIS, or flood risk are desirable but not essential
  • Good communication and writing skills
  • Teamwork and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in Excel and computing skills
