Job summary

Qualifications
- Degree in an environmental, engineering, scientific or other relevant technical discipline.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (or willingness to work towards).
- Postgraduate qualification desirable.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver river catchment plans and investment programmes.
- Identify risks and opportunities across catchments and develop effective, long-term solutions.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with regulators, government bodies, environmental organisations, local authorities and community groups through the Catchment Based Approach.
- Develop business cases and investment proposals that demonstrate the benefits of catchment-based solutions.
- Lead and support United Utilities’ Manchester based River Ranger team.
- Promote innovative approaches through nature based solutions to deliver natural flood management and sustainable drainage systems.
- Support investment decisions and key stakeholder management support by providing specialist catchment management expertise.
- Monitor and report on the environmental and business benefits delivered through projects.
