Job summary

Job description

Cleansing Service Group Ltd is a very successful family waste management business with treatment facilities across England. Due to the success of our treatment operations at Worcester we are looking to recruit an extra person into the small team.

Job Purpose:To assist in all site operations. To assist with all plant operations whenever appropriate including storage, transfer and movements of materials, maintenance, analysis, record keeping and customer service.

Key responsibilities:

1. To analyse waste samples in a timely fashion, designating process routes for those acceptable to site operations.
2. To operate all processes in a safe and efficient manner, using the correct Personal Protective Equipment and working within the Standard Operating Procedures.
3. To ensure the provision of the correct documentation for all incoming and outgoing loads.
4. To help ensure that all site activities are carried out in full compliance with the Company’s S.H.E. policies and all Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and regulations in order that the operations at the site do not negatively impact on human health, the environment or public amenity.
5. To help optimise vehicle turnaround time, processing efficiency and customer service. To provide site and laboratory cover taking a flexible approach to break times and providing reasonable out of hours cover if required.
6. To co-operate with site management in improving operating standards and adopt a fully flexible approach to all the site tasks on which training has been given.
7. To actively participate in the improvement of site housekeeping standards by dealing with issues within personal span of control immediately and reporting all other issues to site management.
8. To assist in the maintenance, development and improvement of site activities and processes including the analysis of samples for new potential waste streams.
9. To undertake supervisory duties in support of site management when required and to supervise, operate and assist in the maintenance of processing plant andessential associated sources including the water treatment and effluent discharge system.
10. To assist and participate in all site safety activities and initiatives, risk assessments, safety audits, defect reporting, incident reporting.

Qualifications and Attributes:

1. Minimum HNC / Degree in a Chemistry based subject.
2. No experience is necessary as full training will be given.
3. A flexible and co-operative attitude and approach to work is essential.
4. Ability to work in a team or individually.
5. The successful candidate will be encouraged to undertake an NVQ Level 4 qualification covering the treatment of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
