Waste / Street Cleansing Supervisor

Salary – £33,187 - £39,044
Hours – 40 hours per week, typically 7am to 3pm (flexibility required)
Location – Tonbridge, TN9 1TB, and Tunbridge Wells, TN2 3EE

As a Waste/Street Cleansing Supervisor at FCC Environment, you will play a vital role in the co-ordination and delivery of frontline environmental services across both Tonbridge & Malling and Tunbridge Wells. You’ll lead waste collection, street cleansing and recycling operations, ensuring a safe, efficient and compliant service that meets contractual obligations and supports environmental goals.

This is a full-time position, working 5 days per week.

What will you be doing?

- Supervising and coordinating waste and street cleansing operations across both boroughs
- Supporting a team of operatives to deliver an efficient and professional service
- Monitoring health, safety, quality and performance standards across sites
- Ensuring compliance with all environmental and health & safety legislation
- Leading investigations and disciplinary procedures as required
- Conducting staff training, licence checks, safety briefings and equipment inductions
- Liaising with local councils, stakeholders and contractors
- Promoting resource efficiency, recycling and continuous improvement
- Using systems such as Veocheck, CMS, and Microsoft Office for operational reporting and audits
- Standing in for the Service Delivery Manager when required

What are we looking for?

- Proven experience in a supervisory role, ideally in waste, logistics or environmental services
- Strong people management and leadership skills
- A proactive, safety-conscious and customer-focused approach
- Excellent organisational and communication abilities
- Flexibility and willingness to travel between sites
- Strong IT literacy, including use of Microsoft Office and operational software
- A full UK driving licence (HGV/CPC an advantage)
