A local government authority in Grangemouth is seeking a dedicated officer to lead waste and litter strategy. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans, managing procurement contracts, and overseeing educational campaigns. The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant field and a strong background in waste management. Excellent communication skills and project management experience are essential for success in this role.
Reporting directly to the Waste Manager, you will operate as part of the waste services team. As the lead officer for Waste & Litter Strategy, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategic plans and partnerships to ensure the Council’s statutory and non-statutory obligations are met; be responsible for developing, implementing and managing waste related procurement contracts, ensuring financial compliance; the management and development of waste related educational campaigns and communications to provide residents and businesses with information to maximise participation/capture of recyclate; and, the development of the Council’s commercial waste service.
You will have regular contact with householders, community bodies, contractors and delivery partners combined with liaison with other Council staff and Elected Members.
Excellent communication and report writing skills, in-depth knowledge of issues related to waste, recycling and litter prevention and proven experience in project and staff management are essential. You will possess a degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant subject area is required.
