Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Braintree Council to recruit this Waste Services Manager.
The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Waste Services Manager to join our Operations Team in Braintree, Essex. This role is responsible for the operational delivery of the Council’s Waste Service which includes refuse, recycling and commercial waste and the waste transfer station. Supporting the Operations Manager, the post holder will provide a clear sense of leadership, direction and purpose across the service.
Fundamental to the role is developing and leading on the waste strategy for the Council, delivering service improvements, managing budgets, overseeing the management of a large operational team and working with Trade Unions to maintain effective relationships.
Experience:
To be successful in this role you will need to have substantial knowledge and experience of waste and hold the COTC qualification. A Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Haulage Operation is desirable, as is membership of a relevant waste professional body. You will also have knowledge of relevant legislation and experience of service planning and management in a comparable organisation.
You must be an excellent communicator, enabling you to manage performance and attendance, investigate accidents and disciplinary matters and report to the Senior Management Team, Directors and Management Board on key performance reports.
