Overview

This is a great opportunity to be part of a team providing one of the most important services to Powys residents and to help increase recycling. Waste and Recycling is collected from every resident and Powys is one of the best performing Councils in Wales for recycling. If you want to be part of this team as a driver or loader and make a difference, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities
  • Drive and load a variety of waste and recycling collection vehicles, taking responsibility for the vehicle throughout the working day.
  • Ensure residents put out the correct materials for recycling in the right containers and leave information if they are not.
  • Unload the vehicle at transfer stations, following all site rules.
  • Report any problems to Supervisors so that residents receive a quality service.
  • Assist with other activities such as working at transfer stations, making deliveries and bulky waste collections.
What you will need
  • HGV Class 2 Driving Licence (essential).
  • Pride in your work, reliability, and willingness to work as part of a team to get the job done.
  • Commitment to helping increase recycling in Powys.
  • Flexible, positive, approachable, and committed to making a difference to the local community; first point of contact for the service.
  • Enjoy working outdoors in all weathers throughout the year.
  • Able to follow instructions for your own and colleagues health and safety.
