Job description

Here at the Mick George Group, we are looking for a Waste Operator/Labourer to join the team at our Milton Keynes site.

Job Overview:
To operate plant and machinery to assist with the sorting of waste within the waste transfer station (WTS) and any other duties required in the day-to-day running of the WTS as deemed necessary by a site supervisor/manager.

Responsibilities:

  1. To carry out daily/weekly maintenance checks of the plant in their use.
  2. To carry out the daily/weekly required maintenance tasks on the plant in their use.
  3. To sort waste and carry out tasks relating to the WTS processes using their allocated plant/machinery.
  4. To carry out any other duties relating to the WTS as requested by a supervisor/manager.
  5. To accurately record their working hours on timesheets and submit on a weekly basis.
  6. To ensure any training requirements are highlighted to line management, especially for legislative minimum requirements.
  7. Conduct themselves in such a way to not endanger themselves or those around them.
  8. Conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times as an ambassador of Mick George Group.

Skills/Qualifications:

  1. Relevant plant operator licences.
  2. Excellent communication skills.
  3. Ability to be methodical and flexible in approach to tasks.
  4. A pro-active team member.
  5. Basic computer literacy (use of emails, etc.) (Desirable).
