Job summary

ABM is seeking a Waste Operative for Spirit Belfast to join our waste management team. The role involves following safe working practices, keeping areas clean, and operating waste handling equipment while coordinating with contractors and site management to meet client needs.

You will be required to maintain PPE and cleanliness standards, adhere to schedules, and contribute to incident-free operations. Training will be provided to enhance skills and safety awareness.

Qualifications

• Full, clean driving licence is essential.
• Forklift counter-balance qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review & adhere to safe systems of work, policies & procedures.
• Adhere to a ‘clean as you go’ approach.
• Wear PPE as directed and maintain in good condition.
• Decant/empty waste receptacles as required.
• Ensure waste streams are segregated properly.
• Moving waste receptacles to ensure provision in areas of need.
• Coordinate provision of bins, skips and collections by waste contractors.
• Ensure adherence to work schedules.
• Ensure waste management does not disrupt client operations.
• Operate balers & compactors and other equipment.
• Promptly report defects of equipment.
• Complete check sheets as required.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping of all waste areas (including signage & labelling).
• Support communication & awareness activities as required.
• Liaise with Site Waste Manager to deliver customer satisfaction.

Salary: £12.80 per hour

Key Responsibilities

Measure Service Provision

• Review & adhere to safe systems of work, policies & procedures

Essential Criteria:

• A full, clean driving licence.
