Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd is recruiting for a Waste & Fleet Training Officer on a 12-month contract in the West Midlands. This hands-on role focuses on driver training, fleet compliance and workforce development to ensure staff remain trained and compliant within the Local Authority service.

The successful candidate will manage training matrices, conduct driver assessments and align with DVSA requirements, health and safety standards, and operational guidelines for yard and route checks.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence must be held.
• Experience in waste, fleet, transport or environmental services.
• Experience delivering driver training, assessment or coaching.
• Knowledge of DVSA requirements and fleet compliance.
• Experience managing training matrices and competency records.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.
• Understanding of Health & Safety legislation.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Waste & Fleet Training Officer to join a busy Local Authority waste service on an initial 12-month contract. We are looking for a hands‑on professional with experience in waste operations, fleet compliance, driver training and workforce development to ensure operational staff remain fully trained, compliant and competent across the service.

Essential Requirements
