Job summary

Mansfield District Council is seeking a Waste Services and Fleet Manager in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. You will lead waste and recycling operations, oversee fleet services including vehicle maintenance, and shape service standards across districts.

You will manage large budgets, drive improvements, and provide technical guidance on waste policies while coordinating with managers to deploy people, vehicles and resources effectively.

Qualifications

• Chartered Waste Manager status or active progression towards it.
• Level 7 qualification in leadership or similar, or progress towards one.
• Degree in environmental or waste-management discipline or demonstrable experience in waste-management operations.
• Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Transport Operations, or progress towards it.

Responsibilities

• Lead the waste and recycling services and Fleet Services.
• Manage multi-million-pound budgets and procurement activity.
• Develop workforce, drive continuous improvement and performance benchmarking.
• Represent the Council at meetings and national forums.
