As a Waste Coordinator you will support with correct handling and collection of waste and serve as an environmental representative in your Fulfilment Center (FC). Compliance with regulatory requirements, Amazon standards and waste reduction are the most important goals.

Key job responsibilities
•Characterization of waste including proper storage, segregation, containerizing, labelling and preparing for pick-up, in accordance with European and local waste regulations.
• Conduct thorough and accurate environmental inspections for continuous improvement. This includes inspections of waste collection points, spill response kits, product awaiting determination area, waste management supplies, etc.
• Support the site in preparing monthly waste analysis to track progress on waste amounts and strive to drive improvements.
• Monitor environmental related incidents on site and participate in investigations. Work closely with the local Environmental Manager to drive thorough and accurate investigations.
• Physical maintenance and housekeeping of the waste storage area and all related safety equipment (eye wash, spill kit, fire extinguisher, etc.).
• Manage all waste pick-up and be the point of contact for the waste vendor. The tasks include send accumulated logs, schedule and coordinate waste pick-ups, follow-up on paperwork for each consignment of waste and maintain documentation of waste transfer notes.
• Research trends, inventory loss and cost reduction efforts, where applicable.


A day in the life
In this position, you will be the contact partner between Operations, Facilities & Engineering departments, Environmental Assurance and Protection Team. Your working days will include coordination of internal hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal; support of the donations process, coordination and optimization of the collection with our external waste vendors; support of internal pallet disposal; takeover of special tasks and projects, support of technical department. You will get training and learn about applicable regulations to provide technical support on waste handling to the site and support driving the implementation of Amazon Global Environmental Assurance and Protection (EAP) programs within the assigned facility.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Advanced proficiency in local language in both written and verbal communication (B2 Common European Framework of Reference, CEFR)
• Relevant experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment
• Technical understanding with regards to the waste management process
• Experience with Environmental regulations
