Job summary

Down To Earth Developments is hiring a Washplant Operator to safely run the washplant and water treatment system, ensuring materials meet specifications and recycled aggregates are produced to standard.

You will work with the site team to maintain efficient loading, perform routine inspections, and carry out basic maintenance, with daily pre-start checks and a proactive approach to safety.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a washplant, recycling plant, or quarry plant.
• Experience operating mobile plant (loading shovels/excavators) is advantageous.
• Good mechanical awareness and ability to identify plant defects.
• Reliable, safety-conscious and a good team player.
• Strong attention to detail and proactive approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and monitor the washplant and water treatment system.
• Ensure processed materials meet specification.
• Maintain efficient loading and removal of recycled aggregates and clay.
• Carry out routine site inspections, cleaning and basic maintenance.
• Complete daily pre-start checks on site and mobile plant.
• Monitor plant performance and report issues affecting production or quality.
• Inspect incoming materials for suitability and compliance with waste criteria.
• Keep stockpiles, bays and working areas clean and organised.
• Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures.
• Work with the Site Manager to resolve operational issues and improve plant performance.
