We play a crucial role in advancing nuclear new build, ensuring the UK's energy security and achieving net-zero carbon emissions.Great British Energy - Nuclear focuses on fostering innovation, facilitating investment, and coordinating efforts across the nuclear industry to build a resilient and sustainable energy future.

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Office Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our GBE-N Warrington office and managing the engagement with the other occupiers and the building management team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth functioning of the workplace, health and safety compliance, supporting staff, and maintaining a productive and welcoming environment. You'll be dealing with an office that spans two floors of our building and multiple requests for assistance every day, you'll need to be a practical problem solver with the ability to prioritise as you go.

The position operates on a compressed work week, offering extended hours across four days. The successful candidate may be required to undergo SC Clearance in the future.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Manage all administrative functions and ensure the office operates efficiently.
  • Act as the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate office maintenance, supplies, and supplier relationships.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes for staff.
  • Organise meetings, manage calendars, and support event logistics.
  • Manage security passes and access to the building for over 200 staff and multiple guests in order to ensure that we comply with Government Security standards and other legislation.
  • Manage meeting room bookings and ensure GBE-N colleagues are adhering to room booking policy.
  • Manage the relationship with the Home Office and IOPC Facilities Management teams ensuring that GBE-N requirements are delivered
  • Monitor office budgets and handle basic financial administration.
  • Ensure compliance with the relevant Health and Safety legislation through managing the training and provision of fire wardens and first aiders with cover maintained at all times.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required

  • Proven experience in office management or administrative roles.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and office management tools.
  • Ability to work independently, run minor projects and manage priorities effectively.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations is a requirement.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths required.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent is desirable.
  • First Aid and/or Fire Warden certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain).
