Job summary

E3 Recruitment is seeking a Commercial Bodywork Engineer for a brand-new, permanent role in Manchester. The position is site-based in a dedicated repair bay handling warranty and repair work, with a salary up to £35k depending on experience.

Typical duties include repairing damaged vehicle bodies, replacing panels, performing light fabrication, and read­ing engineering drawings to ensure high-quality standards within agreed timescales. Benefits include a pension scheme and 28 days holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience in vehicle body repairs and related fabrication work.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and repair specs.
• Strong focus on quality and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs to damaged commercial vehicle bodies, panels and structures.
• Remove and replace body panels, flooring, side panels and related components.
• Perform light fabrication, cutting, drilling and fitting work as required.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Conduct aluminium and steel body repairs.
• Assess vehicle damage and determine repair methods.
• Ensure repairs meet company standards and timelines.
• Read and follow engineering drawings and repair instructions.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised workspace.
• Collaborate with colleagues to meet production and customer deadlines.
