Job summary

Corps Security is seeking a highly skilled SIA Licensed Security Officer to provide a secure environment on site. You will apply access control, conduct site inductions, and carry out planned and ad‑hoc patrols, following escalation procedures with Site Management and emergency services.

Average hours are 42 per week, 07:00 - 19:00. We offer a Real Living Wage partnership and a range of benefits including sick pay, license renewals, pension, cycle to work, and more.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus.
• A valid SIA Front‑Line License - essential.
• Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships at all levels.
• Ability to meet deadlines, multitask and work under pressure.
• Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel).
• Able to achieve vetting to BS7858 standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain surveillance of the site with patrols and recordkeeping.
• Brief and sign in visitors and contractors; manage deliveries on site.
• Record entry/exit and complete site paperwork per procedures.
• Ensure patrols are carried out to required standards.
• Set/unset alarm systems for out‑of‑hours security as applicable.
• Complete daily logs, handovers, incident records and site reports.
• Follow assignment instructions and risk assessments; advise on improvements.
• Maintain training records and ensure first aid and fire marshal training is up to date.
• Uphold professional standards and display SIA licence at all times.
• Perform ad hoc duties as directed.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a highly skilled SIA Licensed Security Officer to provide a secure and safe environment for all staff & visitors on site. This will be achieved through applying thorough access control procedures, carrying out site inductions, planned & ad‑hoc site patrols together with other duties as determined by the Assignment Instructions. In the event of an emergency follow prescribed escalation/communication procedures with Site Management, Corps colleagues and the emergency services. You will be working an average of 42 hours per week 07:00 - 19:00

What You Will Need

What Are You Going To Do

• Maintain overall surveillance of the site, carrying out regular site patrols and recording these as per Corps and Customer requirements.
• Ensuring all visitors and contractors to site are correctly briefed, sign in and out of the site.
• Record the entry and exit of delivery whilst on site, including processing of paperwork in line with site quality procedures.
• To ensure that patrols are carried out and to the correct standards.
• Set and unset primary and secondary alarm security systems for out of hours security provision if applicable.
• Complete documents as required including daily occurrence log, shift handover, incident/accident records and any site‑specific reports.
• Ensure you are familiar with Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments, and other quality & safety documents; advise Corps Duty Manager and/or client personnel on any changes or recommendations to improve.
• Maintain your own training records via Corps Colleague Portal such that your skills remain up to date, and in particular your first aid and fire marshal training is in accordance with legislative guidelines.
• Continuously apply your SIA skills, maintaining a high level of professionalism. Your SIA licence must be always displayed.
• Perform ad hoc duties as directed.
