Job summary

Corps Security is seeking a highly skilled SIA licensed Security Officer to protect staff and visitors on site. You will conduct access control, site inductions, and patrols, following all procedures and escalation protocols with site management and emergency services.

You will work a demanding 66-hour week with rotating days, nights and weekends, via shifts from 18:00–08:00 and 06:00–18:00 on weekends. The role supports a strong benefits package and long-term career prospects.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills and strong customer-focused approach.
  • Valid SIA Front-Line License is essential.
  • Valid SIA CCTV License is desirable.
  • Confident in building relationships at all levels.
  • Able to meet deadlines, multitask and work under pressure.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel.
  • Able to meet BS7858 vetting standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain overall surveillance of the site through regular patrols and report as required.
  • Ensure all visitors and contractors are briefed, signed in/out.
  • Record deliveries on site and process related paperwork per procedures.
  • Set and unset primary and secondary alarm systems for out-of-hours security when needed.
  • Follow site waste management procedures and complete required logs and reports.
  • Adhere to Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments and safety documents; flag changes to supervisors.
  • Keep training records up to date, including first aid and fire marshal training.
  • Maintain professional standards and display your SIA licence at all times.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a highly skilled SIA Licensed Security Officer to provide a secure and safe environment for all staff & visitors on site. This will be achieved through applying thorough access control procedures, carrying out site inductions, planned & ad-hoc site patrols together with other duties as determined by the Assignment Instructions. In the event of an emergency follow prescribed escalation/communication procedures with Site Management, Corps colleagues and the emergency services.

You will be working an average of 66 hours per week covering days, nights and weekends. Shift pattern will be 1800-0800 Monday - Wednesday and 0600-1800 Saturday - Sunday.

What You Will Need
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus.
  • A valid SIA Front-Line License - essential
  • A valid SIA CCTV License - desirable
  • Confidence and ability to establish and maintain good and effective working relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to work to deadlines, multitasking and working under pressure.
  • Excellent IT Skills including Microsoft Software Packages (e.g. Excel)
  • Able to achieve vetting to BS7858 Standards
What Are You Going To Do
  • Maintain overall surveillance of the site, carrying out regular site patrols and recording these as per Corps and Customer requirements.
  • Ensuring all visitors and contractors to site are correctly briefed, sign in and out of the site.
  • Record the entry and exit of delivery whilst on site, including processing of paperwork in line with site quality procedures.
  • To ensure that patrols are carried out and to the correct standards.
  • Set and unset primary and secondary alarm security systems for out of hours security provision if applicable.
  • Comply with site waste management procedures.
  • Complete documents as required including daily occurrence log, shift handover, incident/accident records and any site-specific reports.
  • Ensure you are familiar with Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments, and other quality & safety documents; advise Corps Duty Manager and/or client personnel on any changes or recommendations to improve.
  • Maintain your own training records via Corps Colleague Portal such that your skills remain up to date, and in particular your first aid and fire marshal training is in accordance with legislative guidelines.
  • Continuously apply your SIA skills, maintaining a high level of professionalism. Your SIA licence must be always displayed.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as directed.
