Wage Rate

$19.75/hour

Position Overview

The Food Service Worker accurately and efficiently prepares a variety of food items according to work instructions and menus, utilizing various food preparation utensils and machines.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

• Verify accurate counts of products and supplies
• Maintain proper rotation of ingredients and refrigerated/frozen food items
• Load and unload trucks as necessary
• Assist with warehouse and kitchen tasks as needed
• Stock and organize the warehouse
• Follow sanitation and safety guidelines
• Supervise and direct inmate labor
• Order paper, cleaning supplies, tools, and food products based on menus
• Ensure delivery vehicles are inspected
• Oversee and manage drivers' duties
• Conduct daily and weekly inspections of areas
• Train inmates and staff
• Manage tool control
• Schedule preventative maintenance on warehouse equipment
• Support deliveries to kitchens and manage orders
• Reconcile weekly usage reports
• Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; at least 18 years old
• Minimum 1 year experience in food service, institutional experience preferred
• ServSafe Food Handler certification preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand for long periods
• Experience with safety procedures in food service environments
