We are looking for a proactive and reliable team player to join our busy production team on a temporary contract for the summer period. This multi-disciplinary role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on, physical work in a fast-paced environment.
It is essential to have a good understanding of how to work methodically and to be able to shift priorities depending on the direction of the supervision given. Manual housekeeping and health and safety responsibilities are accountable within this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading sheet metal and laser cut and bent parts manually or using the appropriate lifting aids on and off of laser beds.
- Safely manoeuvring trollies or boxes of cut parts across the shop floor when appropriate from the machines to the dispatch area.
- Assisting with the general organisation of the production areas, ensuring that pallets are loaded in safe areas avoiding traffic routes, and parts are sorted according to their specific needs between bubble wrap, boxes and pallets.
- Cleaning and sanitising all work areas including the cleaning of machinery.
- Maintaining safe working environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines at all times. Full responsibility over ensuring that the shop floor is kept tidy and well organised.
- Support Production Operatives in the handling of oversized parts or waste skeleton material.
- Recycling all delivery materials such as cardboard, plastic etc.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth production flow, and support dispatch activities upon request.
- Completing sign off on relevant paperwork including non-conformance and shortages.
- Any other activities required by the Supervisor / Production Manager.
What We’re Looking For
- Physically capable of the required manual handling duties within a production environment.
- Punctual, dependable, and willing to learn.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Basic computer skills.
- Previous experience working in a warehouse or similar environment preferred.
- We are prepared to train someone but require some manufacturing experience along with good practical skills.
- Over 18 years old and should have a minimum of maths and English GCSEs.

- Located in Braintree or nearby (max of 30min driving commute)
Working pattern
- Early shift: Monday to Friday 6am - 2:30pm (30-minutes unpaid break)
- No weekends or overtime usually required
- Starting Salary: £12.60 per hour (annual salary of £26,208.00)
