What is the main purpose of the role and how does it add value to our business? What impact does it bring?

Warehouse Operations at Gwent Park are critical to the support of our client AB InBev and their brewery in Magor

This role takes operational responsibility for all core elements of the warehouse operation across all three shifts (6-2, 2-10, 10-6 (nights).

Fully trained to deliver all aspects of the role and fully support line manager/managers in delivering great standards across the warehouse and Keg Yards.

Support H&S processes throughout the warehouse and delivering key KPI targets while engaging a cohesive team, delivering training/best practices

First point of call for supporting colleagues with on-the-job activity, problem solving and communicating through briefs, one to ones and toolbox talks

Inventory knowledge and counting accuracy to support process of on hand stock and inbounds/outbound HHT scanning

Roles and responsibilities

• Direct management of colleagues within your team who are responsible for the operation of the warehouse at Gwent Park
• Supporting role for the Warehouse Operations Manager and other managers with cover provision during holidays and absence as and when required
• Collating overtime requirements and additional working hours
• Holiday planning
• Resource planning and development of the warehouse teams through planning/training working through the team’s strengths and weaknesses
• Monitor and maintain physical condition of the warehouse and equipment, including effective cleaning regimes and equipment readiness for operation
• Establish shipping and receiving operational procedures review shipping and receiving orders and requests for stock transfers
• Schedule inbound and outbound transportation supervise and coordinate loading and unloading of inventory
• Ensure proper storage of received inventory oversee the receipt, checking and verification of inventory ensure orders are pulled, checked and packed correctly for shipping
• Ensure all items are shipped in a timely manner rotate inventory properly using the WMS
• Review inventory reports daily schedule and assign duties to warehouse workers
• Motivate staff to ensure high performing teams maintain staff productivity and quality standards
• Develop and maintain good working relationships between the warehouse and other departments
• Ensure best practices are followed in all areas of responsibility

Resource Planning

• Ensuring sufficient resource is available to meet the agreed schedules
• Measured by operating days and times supported as agreed with the client

Team Training

• Ensuring all operatives have the training required to perform as required and grow in role
• Measured by Staff training matrix up to date for all SOPs

Productivity

• Ensuring that production and transport schedules are met and loaded safely and correctly
• Measured by daily client dashboard

Service Quality

• Ensuring the correct goods are processed inbound and outbound and shipped on time in full and inventory up to date and correct/investigated
• Measured by daily and weekly dashboard and inventory / stock checks

Health & Safety Compliance

• Ensuring the teams remain safe and compliant to all SOPs at all times
• Measured by reporting of all incidents and accidents on Engage
