Job description

Job Role and Hours

This is a night shift role with hours to be discussed at interview. The position involves working 5 out of 7 days a week, totaling 45 hours. Shift patterns and start times are flexible.

Responsibilities
  • Training permanent Warehouse Trainers to deliver warehouse inductions, safety, and compliance training, including inductions, SSOW & MHE training (LLOP, Ride-on, and FLT) for new starters during ramp-up.
  • Observation, feedback, and coaching of new trainers at Sysco.
  • Training managers new to Sysco in Pristine best practices.
  • Sign off new starters as competent in SSOW & basic MHE before transferring responsibility to warehouse team managers for further training.
  • Supporting site setup of training record systems and ensuring proper documentation and tracking of re-training requirements.
  • Collaborating with the central training team to sign off Hemel training team as competent and transferring full responsibility for warehouse training.
  • Supporting recruitment activities, including interviews, site tours, and right-to-work checks.
  • Establishing PPE management processes, issuing PPE, and training the team on these processes.
  • Educating the team on colleague benefits and access procedures.
Experience, Skills, and Knowledge
  • Experience delivering warehouse operative inductions and familiarity with Academy induction material (essential).
  • Current accredited FLT trainer (desirable), with a valid Reach truck license (minimum requirement).
  • First Aid, Fire Marshall, and Mental Health First Aider trainer (desirable).
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Flexibility across shifts/days and commitment for 3-9 months.
  • Ability to work independently and role-model behaviors.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, proactive in problem-solving and generating ideas.
  • Driving license (essential).
