Job summary

The Best Connection is recruiting an experienced Warehouse Team Leader to join at our client's site in Yeovil. The role focuses on leading daily warehouse operations, supporting operatives and maintaining high safety and performance standards.

You will actively lead on the shop floor, monitor performance and ensure the team has the resources and guidance needed to work safely and effectively, with a strong emphasis on communication and continuous improvement.

The Best Connection is currently recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Team Leader to join at our client's site in Yeovil.

They are looking for a proactive, hands-on Team Leader to oversee daily warehouse operations, support their workforce and ensure the highest standards of safety, productivity and performance are achieved.

THE ROLE

As a Warehouse Team Leader, you will be responsible for the smooth running of day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring productivity, efficiency and high standards are maintained.

You will take an active role on the warehouse floor, leading and supporting operatives, monitoring performance and ensuring everyone has the resources and guidance needed to carry out their duties safely and effectively.

You will also act as the link between warehouse operatives and management, maintaining clear communication, a positive working environment and consistent operational standards.

Pay

£15.03 per hour

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Leadership & Operations

• Oversee daily warehouse activities, ensuring operations run smoothly and efficiently.


• Allocate tasks and responsibilities according to workload and individual capabilities.

• Promote a positive health and safety culture across the warehouse.


• Ensure company policies, procedures and operational standards are consistently followed.


• Complete and maintain accurate operational and compliance documentation.


• Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses, ensuring appropriate actions are taken.


• Identify potential workplace hazards and maintain a safe working environment.


• Support company initiatives and continuous improvement activities.

Warehouse & Site Responsibilities

• Oversee the receiving, storage, warehousing and distribution of goods.


• Ensure warehouse operations are managed in line with company policies, procedures and business objectives.


• Coordinate inbound trailers and oversee waste management and disposal arrangements.


• Support general site and equipment maintenance requirements.


• Be flexible with working hours and shift patterns to meet operational demands.


• Operate a forklift truck when required. Full training will be provided.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

LOCATION-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

• Full UK driving licence.


• Flexibility to work different shifts in line with operational requirements.


• Willingness to undertake forklift training. Previous FLT experience is not essential as training will be provided.
